Food Service

Kitchen
Responsibilities:

• Assist cooks with preparation of food and cooking of meals.
• Food preparation experience desirable
• Maintaining a sanitary kitchen area.
• Assist cooks during meal times with re-stocking serving lines.
• Set up staff lunch
• Help with inventory and stocking
• Assist in other departments as needed including Saturday change-over (housekeeping)

Qualifications:

• An interest in cooking and a heart for serving people through a hospitality ministry
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and stand for 6-8 hours at a time
• All other qualifications of full time employment with Cannon Beach Conference Center.

Other:

• Uniforms provided
• Food handler permit card provided

Dish room
Responsibilities:

• Wash conference and staff dishes.
• Learn where dishes and utensils are stored in the kitchen
• KP – cleaning and mopping the kitchen area at the end of the day
• Assisting with setting up for staff lunches
• Assisting in other departments as needed including Saturday change-over (housekeeping)

Qualifications:

• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 6-8 hour periods.
• Able to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals, bleach, etc.
• Team oriented
• Able to work unsupervised
• All other qualifications of full time employment with Cannon Beach Conference Center.

Waitstaff
Responsibilities:

• Serve meals to guests and staff eating in guest areas
• Clean up and reset dining room after each meals
• Clearing dishes from tables
• Washing dishes (2-3 shifts per week on average)
• Set up special meal events: ice cream social, salmon bbq, speaker’s luncheon, women’s tea
• Assisting in other departments as needed including Saturday change-over (housekeeping)

Qualifications:

• Some experience in food service desirable
• Understanding of guest service principles
• Good communications skills
• Friendly, professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and carry a tray with food
• Ability to stand for 2-4 hours at a time
• A heart for serving people through a hospitality ministry
• All other qualifications of full time employment with Cannon Beach Conference Center.

Other:

• No visible piercings other than ear rings for females (2 per ear)
• No facial hair (moustaches, beards, goatees) on men
• No visible tattoos
• No unusual hair colors or styles (ex. shocking pink, mohawks)
• No necklaces worn at work for either male or female
• Shirt and aprons provided.
• Must bring two pairs of black and khaki (tan) pants and a pair of white shoes and black shoes
