Downtown Cannon Beach

One of the best aspects of visiting Cannon Beach is that there is so much to do and see within walking distance of the conference center.  Whether you are looking for a tasty bite of Pacific Northwest cuisine or interested in one of our many local art galleries, Cannon Beach is an ideal place to spend an afternoon exploring downtown shops and galleries. Better yet, don’t do anything at all!  Take a nap!  Its your choice!

Dining

Cannon Beach is home to an incredible array of local eateries that feature fresh products exclusive to this region. For example, close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Columbia River and both Nehalem and Willapa Bays make this a seafood lover’s paradise. Locally farmed beef, dairy products, baked goods, confections, and coffee also are available. Fresh produce arrives daily from the fertile farmlands of the nearby Willamette and Nehalem valleys.

Generally, conference guests are encouraged to eat lunch in town or in our snack shop. Several deli and lunch counters in town offer an excellent selection of casual lunch fare. From pizza to gourmet cuisine, you are sure to find something to tempt your taste and budget.

Galleries

For years, Cannon Beach has attracted artists drawn by the natural beauty and close-knit community. Over time, art studios and galleries have sprung up, featuring the works of our talented local artists.

From breath-taking watercolors that seem to capture the magnificence of our coastal shores to spectacular creations of glass, bronze, and clay, our galleries feature a wide array of works in every medium.

Visitors can take a walking tour of different galleries and studios, following a map provided by the Chamber of Commerce or venture out on your own. All galleries include works of art that are for sale. A painting or sculpture is a wonderful way to take a little bit of Cannon Beach back home with you. The Jeffrey Hull Gallery, located near the conference grounds, features the original works of local artist, Jeffrey Hull.

Relaxing

One of our favorite past times at Cannon Beach is relaxing! The pace of life is just a little bit slower on the coast and afternoons are perfect for napping or enjoying a good book.

While you are our guest, we want to ensure that your needs are taken care of so that you feel the freedom to rest and be refreshed.

Need help relaxing? Our bookstore has a variety of interesting books by Christian authors that are great for lazy afternoons. Still need some help? How about an ice cream cone from our snack shop to put you in the mood. It is almost impossible to feel uptight and tense while eating an ice cream cone on the beach!

Cannon Beach is a destination for those seeking a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Perhaps it is the constant lull of the ocean surf breaking in the background, the quality of the fresh sea air, or the flowers lining the sidewalks with colorful blooms from February to late November.
